Farmers' Market, etc.

After many dreadfully hot days, this morning finally began to feel like Fall may actually be approaching soon. Yay! We woke up early, and decided to head downtown to Pepper Place Farmers' Market where fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, and peaches all made their way home with us. Mmmm...Check out these apples! Of course, I had to tote along my camera, but I was glad that I did. I was able to catch some great shots. One of which, this "Delicious Apple" print is now available in my shop. I think I might put a copy in my kitchen to bring some color to the walls.

On a completely different note, here is a peek at the greeting cards that were created from the inspiration of beautiful Stella, mentioned and featured in yesterday's post. These are also now available in my Etsy shop. Where you can view more images, with more detail. These are much different than my typical style so any and all comments are appreciated!

Greeting Cards

Not only have I been busy working on the layout of this blog, which I would love to hear comments as to what all of you think of the new face lift, but I have also been glued to my computer creating a variety of new card designs. I have a new funky/alternative birthday card. A set of kitty "Hi" cards that I think will definitely be a hit with the "Cat Lovers" crowd ;) Make sure you check those out.

I've been trying to decide when I should post my holiday greeting cards. I will probably start posting designs soon, but would love to hear feedback on when you plan to do your holiday gift shopping, as well as holiday items such as cards, stickers, etc.

What would you like to see in my shop?

This photo was taken of my niece Stella. She inspired the beautiful printed cat set cards that you will see soon to hit my shop! Isn't she beautiful? Stay tuned to see the new set.

Rainy Days

The past few days we have been experiencing nothing but rain. Although, we needed the rain, and I was very glad to see it, I must say it is refreshing to see the sun peaking through my blinds this morning. Being stuck indoors for 3 straight days, I was forced to find inspiration within my home.

I started digging through more photos, and will definitely be adding them to upcoming posts. One photo that I just absolutely love, is this photo of the lime green VW van here to the left. I took this photo a couple of summers ago in Seattle. There is just something about this photo...it gets my creative juices flowing.

Centro Americano

This past April, my husband and I, went with some family and friends to a remote surf camp off the southern coast of Panama, an island called Morro Negrito. The journey to camp, as well as the many details of our trip all were nothing less of an absolutely amazing adventure.

Upon arriving in Panama, we had quite the experience just on the ride to the hotel. We knew if this was any preface of what was to come, that this was going to be one interesting week! Below are some photos that were taken around camp. I hope you enjoy them!

When arriving on the island, we walked a path through the edge of the jungle on our way to camp. This hut is what many call home, however this particular hut held supplies. One of many grateful moments while staying on the island.

Roberto! I fell in love with this little guy. One afternoon we decided to take a break from the waves and went on a jungle hike across the island. Halfway across there is a village of huts where the people of the island live, Roberto is sitting on the porch of one of the more fortunate families' home. He was their pet, and was on a leash. We fed him a juice box and some animal crackers. We loved him!

The last night of our trip we stayed in Panama City, at the Hotel Centro Americano. There was a cool bar downstairs where we had a few Panamanian beers, caught up on some news (since we had been out of the modern world for a week) and enjoyed the air conditioning and a hot shower!

These are just a few of the photos from our Adventure in Panama. If this is something you like, I will definitely have to add more later.

Black, White, & Seen in NYC

While digging through some old photo files, I came across some that were taken with my old point and shoot camera.

While living in New York City, I found many free things to do (believe it or not). My absolute favorite thing to do was to take off on foot and just explore. Some days I would just walk a different direction on the same street or on the other side of the block. Something so simple can create a completely different experience in a city so rich with life. There was no way to predict what you may see. This series is focused on black and white art found random places throughout NYC.

This photo was taken on one of my day walks. I'm not sure the exact location of where this was, but it was painted on the side of a wall somewhere in lower Manhattan. It struck my attention and had to get a shot. Looking back, I'm so glad I did. I get so much inspiration from this photo.

Walking with friends, on a beautiful day in lower Manhattan, I remembered why I would never leave home without my camera. Amazing sidewalk art that appears out of nowhere. Truly amazing talent.

One of my absolute favorite works of art. I'm not sure why, but this wall was so amazing to me. It could not have been easy to produce this, and the emotion is so intense that the artist undoubtedly had reason behind its creation.

I have so many photos of different things I have experienced during travels. These files in particular are from the time I spent in NYC and I have many more. Did this series bring you inspiration? Would you like to see other series? Architecture and other captures? I would love to hear your feedback on this posting as well as if you are interested in others like this.

Another Garden Beauty...

This beautiful butterfly seems to have taken home in our backyard, as well as in the other surrounding flower bushes in the neighborhood. I have to say, it has been quite nice having its beauty fluttering around my garden. I have tried several times to get close enough to catch a shot, but unfortunately have had no luck.

However, today, while trying to exhaust my energetic puppy, I was finally able to play a little game of "Stalk the Poor Butterfly" and get a few amazing shots. Here are a couple of my favorites. The color in the wings is just too amazing for words. I hope you enjoy these as much as I do!

Broken Wing

There are so many things that are beautiful about this photo. One, most noticeably, being the bright blue beauty that radiates from this wings of this butterfly. I kept trying to catch this little guy, as he floated around my garden, however he was too interested in life to stop for even a moment, so I could document his greatness.

I did catch him for a brief second. Although, I didn't get the spread shot I was hoping to get, I was able to capture his broken wings. Through this butterfly's life, he has definitely taken a few hits, but as beautiful as ever, he goes on exploring!

Garden Zen

While watering my garden a few weeks ago, I noticed how beautiful the light was hitting the water on the flower. It was very early so the lighting was just right and it glistened off the water drops. I could not get enough photos. This one is my favorite!
